I've spent my entire career in automotive PR, with a particular focus on the aftermarket sector – though I never actually planned it that way! It just seemed to follow me around, and I'm glad it did. My journey has taken me through every corner of the automotive ecosystem, from parts and technology to vehicle financing and fleet management.
Before diving into PR, I cut my teeth as a journalist working across news, sports, and entertainment for regional titles. This gave me invaluable experience in storytelling and, yes, led to interviews with some well-known names – though I'm more proud of learning how to spot and craft a good story.
Working with suppliers, distributors, and end users across Europe has given me deep insight into the independent aftermarket. I've also had the privilege of driving OEM communications programmes for major brands like Honda, MG, Ford of Europe, and Audi. Whether it's passenger cars, taxis, vans, or HGVs, I've helped tell their stories.
At Torque, I drive aftermarket client communications and support new business development. I'm always on the lookout for opportunities – and yes, for those rare innovations that are genuinely groundbreaking and game-changing (though I promise not to overuse those terms!).
When I'm not immersed in the automotive world, you'll find me supporting Birmingham City FC – a commitment that's taught me patience and resilience in equal measure. Between juggling three kids and following the Blues, I've mastered the art of staying optimistic against all odds – or perhaps it’s simply the art of endurance?
